24th Anniversary Family Walk-Run 2016

In the twenty-four long years since its founding, MODAIR MANILA CO. LTD., INC. has played a major role in the transformation of lives of employees and their families not just through provision of employment but through varied valuable structured activities.


To empower employees and their families, Modair celebrated its 24th Anniversary by holding a Family Walk-Run activity last July 10, 2016 in its goal to promote positive values and healthy habits through running, walkathon or jogathon while bonding with family and colleagues.


Assembly time started at 6:30pm where simple breakfast was provided for those who came early and those from far provinces.  Warm-up exercises with a combination of Japanese exercises and Filipino dances immediately followed in front of the building enjoyed even by very young kids and their parents.  At 7:30, everybody started the group walk-run with their own goals depending on the number of laps/rounds they chose in the route map.  Marshals, route attendants, nurses and Safety Officers were deployed in designated points to ensure safety of all participants.


After the walk-run, everybody partook in the Barbecue and Teppanyaki party arranged and stationed by the company in the building’s car park.  Overflowing pre-marinated meat, seafoods and teppanyaki noodles were made available so everybody was able to relish the fun of choosing the food they want and to grill it themselves at their heart’s and appetite’s delight.

Trainings: Grammar Review and Written & Spoken English

The company supports the development and enhancement of skills in different aspects of the employees’ career.


To further this advocacy, Modair arranged for the conduct of Training-workshops on Grammar Review as well as Written and Spoken English to all monthly personnel divided into 5 batches or schedules.   Ms. Aileen Cruz spearheaded the training using her Communication Skills Development Modules 1 and 2.


Last February 20, 2016, the first batch of participants were Department and Project Managers.  Head Office personnel were divided into two batches: one was on February 27 while batch 2 was last March 5, 2016.  For monthly employees from South site projects, there were two batches also.  First batch was last March 19 while the last batch was on April 2, 2016.


The training-workshop for employees yearns:

  • To improve skills in business communication and correspondences
  • To invigorate basic English grammar proficiency
  • To increase knowledge in the different styles of correspondence
  • To uplift professionalism in the different medium of communication like email, letters, reports, etc.
  •  Personal enhancement

Last March 17, 2016, the joint venture of Filinvest Land, Inc. and Cofely Philippines, a subsidiary of the Engie Group, a worldwide leader in Energy Efficiency and Environmental Services held the groundbreaking ceremony for a Php1.2B centralized cooling system that will supply 420, 000 square meters of office buildings with clean, cooling energy.


The groundbreaking ceremony was held at the project site, Northgate Cyberzone which is the flagship venture of Cyberzone Properties Inc. (CPI), Filinvest’s arm that seeks to create energy-efficient business environments with a campus-vibe.  Representatives of Filinvest and Cofely led the ceremonial groundbreaking.


Our very own General Manager, Mr. Makoto Numata, was one of the participants since Modair was chosen as the General Contractor for the said project.  Also present in the event were officials from CPI, Tractebel Engineering, Engie Services (Phils) and FLI.


The target completion date for the District Cooling System project is on April 2017.

School Beautification Project

In lieu of the company’s commitment to Social Responsibility, the company has devoted to adopt a community school through a beautification project.


Last December 5, 2015, Department and Project Managers both Japanese and Filipinos spearheaded by the company’s Management team enjoined in the final touches and painting of the school fence.  The beautification actually started 2 weeks prior to the finishing and turnover date.  Workers from our Timbao warehouse assisted in the construction of the fence and the fabrication of the dust pans and trash bins which will be donated to the school.


After the final touches and painting of the school fence, a Gratitude program was held by the school administration, teachers and students for Modair.  Students showcased their dance talents in appreciation of the project.  Subsequently after the program, packed lunch were prepared and distributed by the company as another Christmas treat for all participants.


Fencing Timbao Elementary School and providing trash bins and dust pans may seem like a small undertaking but community projects such as these will surely make a difference for the residents of Timbao in Biñan, Laguna where most young children are attending school.  Because of the project, residents would feel safer for their kids.  The donated trash bins and dust pans will also raise awareness amongst students on the importance of proper waste disposal.

As part of Modair’s corporate citizenship and in celebration of the Christmas season, MODAIR MANILA CO. LTD., INC. has made valuable and special activity with the orphans of Bethany Sto. Niño House Orphanage in Guiguinto, Bulacan last December 13, 2014.


Japanese and Filipino managers as well as representatives from different departments and divisions enjoined to make a special Christmas party where the orphans were the stars of the whole activity.  A distinct program with songs, dances and games was prepared and participated by both Modair staffs and Bethany orphans.

The company in its desire to bring genuine joy and support even directly coordinated with the administration of Bethany Orphanage to inquire on the current individual needs of the orphans and the organization as a whole.  With this, Modair provided individual gifts of pillows, pajama sets, undergarments, ceiling fans for the nursery room, medicines, basic kitchen commodities, individually-packed baskets of fruits, cash donation and a lot of prizes and surprises.  Usually when companies visit an orphanage, donations were given in bulk and presented to the administration.  According to them, it was also the first time that the orphans’ names were called to receive their own gift with his/her name written on it.  The big smiles on the faces of about 50 orphans were priceless.

Subsequent to the program, the orphans were given a chance to experience a buffet banquet with the Modair personnel after a half day of fun, frivolity and gift-giving.

Modair launched a series of relief efforts in a company-wide campaign and additional initiatives for its earthquake and Yolanda-stricken staff and their immediate families.  A company-wide voluntary fundraising activity was held wherein employees pledged a valuable percentage of their basic salary to raise financial support for the tragedy victims.  Modair has decided to cancel its annual Christmas Party and instead channel allocated funds to nationwide efforts to help those in great need of support and assistance.
The company has also arranged ad hoc trips for the relief team to reach the affected areas of our workers bringing with them a supply of clean potable water and food, health kits, other emergency relief materials and financial aid.   The team is also composed of carpenters to help in the restoration of their damaged shelters.

Re-vise 20th Anniversary
June 22, 2012 marked Modair Manila’s 20th year in business existence.  Two celebrations were held to highlight the big event and its continuous growth with its theme “Moving forward…Moving ahead @ 20”.   A special dinner took place at The Manila Peninsula Hotel on June 22 participated by all managers of the company, officers from head office in Tonets, Tokyo, Japan and its clients.  The event paid tribute to the clients for its patronage and business partnership with Modair.


Another festivity was held last June 30, 2012 at the Milky Way Restaurant function hall to honor the efforts of all Modair staff in their great contribution to the success of the company.   Suppliers were also recognized during the event for their continued support in our operations.
